Program Theme for Spring 1999

Our programs this springwill feature the Tapestry Singers in a tribute to African American composers. Shows can be as short as 20 minutes or up to an hour and a half depending on the needs of your organization or group. Tapestry is available to perform on Friday or Saturday nights or Sunday afternoons from March until the middle of May.

The featured composers for this program are:

Nathaniel Dett
Jester Hairston
Moses Hogan (comtemporary)

Both were popular around the turn of the century and were among the first composers to write traditional black music for the white concert stage.
